It is lovely to come home after a hard days work to a lovely clean home.  Cleaning should not be a one time process but done little and frequently, particularly with the busy lives we lead.  Create yourself a timetable that suits your lifestyle and that will be easy for you to stick to and try to involve other members of your family.

Clean different parts of the house on different days, such as bathroom one day and bedroom the day after, or you could do hoovering one day and dusting the next day.  It is so much more achievable this way than trying to clean the whole house in one single day.

You need different cleaning products for different things to clean, such as furniture polish for your wooden furniture, kitchen cleaner for your kitchen and limescale remover for your taps and sink.  So get all the cleaning products before hand and use a caddy to make it easy to carry your cleaning stuff around the house.

The first thing to do is organise and declutter your home, it will make it a lot easier to clean.  Get into the habit of clearing up as you go along and get the whole family putting things away after they have finished using them.

Clean up in the kitchen after you have finished cooking.  Get your kids In the habit of  using one glass in a day instead of getting a clean one out each for their juice.  Clear out your fridge regularly getting rid of unwanted food or food that is past it’s sell by date.

Perform a quick wipe around the bathroom every time you use it and get your hubby and kids to do the same.

Make use of the time when you are chatting on the telephone or in a queue and do a bit of dusting or sorting out those magazines.

Anything spilt on the carpet or fabric furniture must be cleaned up straightaway to avoid staining.

Vacuum high traffic areas more frequently, you can get away with whole house vacuum just once a week.

In conclusion, keep on top of your house cleaning and do small bits frequently, this way it is much less of a chore.  Listening to your favourite music also makes it more fun, it can even be enjoyable.
