The following is a great starter kit to start you off when moving into your new home, particularly if you like natural and homemade cleaners.

Baking Soda
Is a natural mild abrasive and deodorizer which is good for adding to homemade cleaners and very good on all surfaces and cleaning grease and soap scum and general dirt.

White Vinegar
Is a great all rounder particularly good for degreasing, used as a disinfectant and deodorizer and is great on limescale.  It can be used for cleaning numerous items around your home from windows, to grease in the kitchen and scum in the bathroom.

Washing up Liquid
Can be used around the home, is gentle and mild, yet cuts through grease and grime in no time.  A few squirts in warm water goes a long way.

Rubbing Alcohol (Surgical Spirit)
A disinfectant which can be used to clean and sanitise surfaces around your home.

These are the basics and all you will probably need, but here are a few more to make your kit very complete for all your cleaning needs and requirements.

All Purpose Cleaner (homemade version: Warm water with a few drops of washing up liquid)
This can be used all around the home to clean but is not a disinfectant.

Disinfectant (homemade version: equal parts of rubbing alcohol and water)
Great for surfaces that harbor bacteria, particularly kitchen and bathroom.  Good for soap scum and lime scale.

Bathroom and Tile Cleaner
Equal parts of white vinegar and washing up liquid.  Can handle lime scale and soap scum as well as being used as a disinfectant.
